Colorado State University is beginning a soft launch of a new, streamlined software acquisition process designed to improve clarity, efficiency, and compliance across the CSU System.
The process will be piloted with select units, including Student Affairs, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Engineering, and the Division of IT. Feedback from this initial rollout will help inform a full system-wide launch planned for July 1, 2026.
The updated process ensures required reviews for security, accessibility, and procurement are completed while reducing duplicative steps and increasing transparency for requestors. While all software purchases can benefit from the new workflow, it is required for software purchases or renewals over $10,000 and for software involving Level 3 or Level 4 data.
