Leadership

Megan Folmar, Director of Communications and Change Management, Interim Director of Project Services
Serving as Director of Communications and Change Management, Megan joined Colorado State University in March of 2023. With over 16 years of experience in higher education, Megan leads her teams in supporting strategic initiatives, projects, and transformations. She enhances organizational communication and guides seamless transitions, ensuring all stakeholders are informed, engaged, and empowered.

Megan is a recognized leader in higher education communications and change strategy, contributing to national discussions on their critical role in the field. Starting her Higher Ed career at Penn State, Megan has led teams in IT marketing, communications, and project management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from The Pennsylvania State University and is Prosci-certified in Change Management.

Units

Communications and Change Management

The Communication and Change Management team works in close partnership with IT staff members and key stakeholders from across the CSU System to develop communication and marketing materials that promote IT services and effectively communicate projects and strategic initiatives with broad-based impact on each campus. In addition to client-facing and external communications, this team leads change management efforts to support successful adoption of new technologies and processes. Responsibilities include crafting messaging strategies that address stakeholder needs, facilitating engagement and readiness activities, and ensuring alignment between project goals and user experience. The team also oversees the Division’s website and other digital platforms to ensure consistent, accessible, and timely information delivery.

IT Training

IT Training provides cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) education, develops training materials and learning resources, and partners with campus stakeholders to deliver engaging and meaningful learning opportunities. This team supports the safe, secure, and effective use of technology by promoting cyber awareness, responsible AI practices, and digital literacy across the CSU System.

Project Management Services

The Project Management Services team plays a pivotal role in delivering IT projects that contribute to the division’s mission in close partnership with IT staff members and in collaboration with key stakeholders from across the University. Responsibilities for this unit include managing the intake of IT project requests, guiding active projects to a successful result, and developing tools and templates to promote the Project Management discipline within the organization.
